Press Release Summary: DVW’s services prevent dryer fires, keep dryers functioning properly and provide energy savings through dryer and dryer vent maintenance, cleaning, repair, replacement and alterations.
Press Release Body: Jon Perry, former owner of The Bike Doctor, a Fresno bicycle shop, traded his wrenches and grease for a service uniform to own and operate a Dryer Vent Wizard, Safe Homes, Dry Clothes (DVW), franchise in The San Joaquin Valley.
When Perry left the cycling industry he spent time raising his family. He still had the passion to serve others with a burning desire for customer service. With successful programs already in place, he looked into franchising to promote his goal to serve others. Having previously been an owner/operator of The Bike Doctor, it gave him a wealth of experience on which to draw. He researched several concepts and found Dryer Vent Wizard Dry Clothes, Safe Homes. Despite the unique name, Perry found the concept intriguing.
“I liked the fact that DVW provided the opportunity for me to serve others and to give back to the community. Being able to help a homeowner or commercial property save money on energy bills and especially being able to prevent potential fire hazards is very fulfilling,” says Perry.
According to Perry, consumer response to DVW has been positive, although a big part of what he does is still educating. “When consumers find their dryer taking more than one cycle to dry a load, they assume it’s mechanical when the real problem is lint accumulation in the dryer vent causing the dryer to work inefficiently and become susceptible to a dryer fire,” says Perry.
In an effort to make consumers more aware, cyclist turned entrepreneur Perry shares these maintenance “tips” with all his customers, to prevent dryer fires and keep dryers running efficiently: Be sure the vent system is up to city, state and manufacturer’s codes, replace plastic or foil vent with semi-rigid metal venting, clean screen lint trays after each load, wash lint screens with soap and water every few months, don’t leave the house or go to sleep with the dryer running and have vents professionally cleaned and inspected annually.
He explains the warning signs to look for: clothes taking more than one cycle to dry, no lint visible on the lint screen, dyer repeatedly stops during a cycle and clothes have a moldy smell when they come out of the dryer.
Jon Perry urges consumers to follow these guidelines to create a safe environment in their home, prolong the life of their dryer and save money on energy bills.
